Lawrence Rogers is currently the Associate Director of Bands at Warren Township High School. He directs Symphonic Winds and the Marching Blue Devils Competitive Band, as well as co-directs Concert Winds, Concert Band, and Symphonic Band. Mr. Rogers additionally teaches Class Guitar.
Prior to his appointment at Warren Township High School, Mr. Rogers was the Associate Director of Bands at Edwardsville (IL) High School from 2009-2015, where he taught Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band, Percussion Ensemble, Indoor Percussion, Music Theory, and Music Appreciation. He then became the Director of Bands at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, IL from 2015-2022, where he taught Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Music Appreciation.
Mr. Rogers is a strong advocate for music in our schools and the use of technology in the music classroom. He has developed ways to teach the total music student, not just the performer, and strives to deliver the content/curriculum in modern and engaging ways. Mr. Rogers is also endorsed by the Vic Firth Company and is a current member of ILMEA.
Lawrence holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Illinois State University as well as a Bachelor’s Degree from Illinois State University in Music Education and Music Performance. Aside from teaching music classes, Mr. Rogers is an avid theme park enthusiast, loves enjoying his patio in the summer, and enjoys fitness. He currently resides in Waukegan, IL with his amazing wife Eileen, their two beautiful children, and two crazy cats, Maestro and Shadow.
