Our Mission Statement
The Naperville Winds’ mission is to serve as a national pillar of exemplary wind band performance and as a community leader of musical literature awareness and education for youth in northern Illinois. Our vision is to bring the most outstanding works of wind band repertory to the mainstream. We maintain the highest musical integrity standards and expectations to foster a culture of excellence among our musician-members. We are committed to providing robust educational experiences and opportunities for youth in the Chicagoland region by sharing our stage with high school bands, particularly those that represent socioeconomically marginalized communities.
The Naperville Winds, which is composed of members 18 years of age and older, rehearses each Thursday from late August to late April, 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the North Central College Fine Arts Center/Wentz Concert Hall (171 East Chicago Avenue Naperville, Illinois. 60540). The ensemble performs three to four concerts per season, produces professional recordings of the season’s repertoire, and serves as the keynote ensemble at major events in the area.
