Dr. Justin Antos

Dr. Justin Antos teaches band and orchestra at Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, Illinois, and works as an adjunct professor of music at Saint Xavier University, Trinity Christian College, and the Longy School of Music at Bard College. His concert bands, marching bands, jazz ensembles, and orchestras have earned numerous 1st Place finishes and Division I ratings over the past several years at various state and national festivals. Antos was recognized in 2022 as one of 10 Illinois Regional Teachers of the Year, one of the Yamaha Corporation’s “40 Under 40” top music educators in the United States, and a national recipient of the Music Teacher of Excellence Award from the Country Music Association Foundation. Antos is a two-time finalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award and is currently a Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. Antos earned BM degrees in both Music Education and Percussion Performance from Saint Xavier University, an MM degree in Music Education from Boston University, an MM degree in Instrumental Conducting from Central Michigan University, an MA degree in School Improvement Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University, EdS and PhD degrees in Music Education from Auburn University, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.
